Caspian

Caspian is a desktop browser built on a Chromium engine with Google's services stripped out — no accounts, no telemetry, no sync servers — shipped for Windows, macOS and Linux from one codebase. Ad and tracker blocking runs inside the engine itself, so a tracker never loads in the first place, and HTTPS-only, third-party cookie blocking and Global Privacy Control are on from the first launch rather than buried in settings.

Its distinguishing idea is verified sites: a curated list of genuine sites, signed with Ed25519, that puts a blue check in the address bar on the real thing and a purple one on government portals. A lookalike simply has no check. Around that sit the things people usually install extensions for — split view, coloured tab groups, a media player that streams torrents while they arrive, family controls behind a parent PIN, private windows, and signed background updates across stable, beta, alpha and dev channels.
